Dr. Michelle Korcz
Dr. Michelle Korcz relocated to New Orleans in February 2000 to start her professional career and has been serving the eye care needs of the greater New Orleans area since then. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY (Sheepshead Bay), graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from the State University of New York in Albany in 1995, and magna cum laude from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2000. She worked as a staff Optometrist at Southern Vision Institute with Marguerite McDonald, MD where she specialized in the pre-and post-operative care of patients undergoing LASIK, PRK, cornea transplant, and cataract surgeries, as well as specialty contact lens fitting from 2000-2001. From 2001-2004, she worked as a staff Optometrist at Vision Plaza specializing in primary optometric care, emergency eye care, and contact lens fitting.
In 2005, she worked as a part-time staff Optometrist for Dr. Stephen Brint, once again specializing in the pre-and post-operative care of LASIK and PRK patients. Following Hurricane Katrina, she opened her own optometric business and optical, Bright Eyes Optique.
Dr. Michelle Korcz is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Optometric Association of Louisiana, New Orleans Contact Lens Society, and Freret Street Business Owners Association. She served as Secretary to New Orleans Contact Lens Society from 2004-2005 and as President of New Orleans Contact Lens Society from 2005-2008.
Dr. Michelle Korcz is married and lives with her husband in Metairie, LA. She has been a flute player with the New Orleans Concert Band since 2002 and enjoys playing in the 5-7 concerts performed each year with a group of approximately 50 musicians. Additionally, she enjoys photography, reading, long walks in Audubon Park and Lafreniere Park, going to Saints games, spending time with her husband, and getting together with family and friends.
